ogunquit maine | august 2007

the constant breeze along the shore made the cool august day one that required a jacket. a cold front had just passed through leaving in its wake a sky filled with fast moving clouds. along the Marginal Way, the craggy granite shorline was pummeled by the waves while youngsters climbed the rocks to water's edge. and so did i. the next day we boarded a small tourist boat that took us past the mouth of the Ogunquit River and up the coast to a small island of rocks populated by seals. the guide explained the basics of lobstering, pulled up a trap, and demonstrated how to deterimine the sex of a lobster. this was a foreign world to a midwestern phootgrapher.
