my friend kevin asked if i had heard about the "photographers night" at cincinnati's krohn conservatory butterfly show. the building housing "the silk road" butterfly display would be limited to photographers only. there was a contest for the best photos. vendors would be there to loan out a variety of lenses. sounded like fun. i arrived at the conservatory ninety minutes before the "photographers night" officially started, and there were about a dozen or so people milling about, a few taking pictures. the attendants taking my ticket took a bottle and rubbed a sticky, sweet liquid on my wrists to attract the butterflies: the orange drink tang. i took quite a few interesting shots, chasing the butterflies around or sneaking up on them while they were slurping up tang from the wrists of others. at five o'clock we were all escorted out, and about 5:30pm, the photographers were let in. soon there were over forty photographers and thirty tripods in the butterfly exhibit.
